Boat hire in sea regions and archipelago

Along with its beautiful nature, the Turku archipelago provides good harbour facilities, there are fishing ports and a close network of boating jetties. The sailing season starts about May Day and continues until mid-October, although really there can be almost "arctic" conditions by then. Residents of the archipelago provide services for seafarers throughout the season which usually starts in May or early June.

Special services in the Helsinki area include sailing trips to Tallinn in which you can either be your own captain, or sail under the guidance of a warm skipper. Rentals for the purpose of sailing abroad require the proof of seamanship qualifications, such as a boat hire license via a maritime institute.

Midnight Sun Sailing Co.. operates in both Helsinki and in the archipelago of Turku. Taalintehdas is the main harbour, located on the island of Kemiö, from where short sailing distances take one to the favourite resorts of Hiittinen, Helsinginhom, Gullkrona and Vänö.
