The free client is fully functional (this is no joke). The client is a masterpiece in bloated, unoptimized, inefficient programming. The client code contains alot of unused useful features. I don't remember everything that is in the code, among other things there are several routines for 3d graphics.

At almost 100kilobytes, the client is incredibly bloated, containing lots of unused code to confuse all you patchers.

There's no use in optimizing the client, the soundcard cannot record data faster than 44100hz. The core analyzing code does not use the main RAM, it uses your video boards RAM for analyzing, that means that there's no use of having super fast main RAM.

A Pentium class machine is recommended for running the client. A 386 is the minimum.

You'll need about a half meg of free space. If the client runs on a superFast computer, it will generate about 150 kilobytes of results in 24 hours.

You'll also need a Vesa compatible graphics card with 1 meg of ram (your computer will probably fulfill this requirement). An operating system capable of running ms-dos programs is also required (dos, win9x).

Upgrade instructions:
Delete all the files in your SIC@HOME directory, zip the new client into the directory.
